small exhaust leak can make a ticking noise. look over the exhaust and see if you can find any indication of a leak. usually a burnt spot around the leak.

I think I fixed it. I went under my car today, looking for signs of an exhaust leak. But I found a bolt, not holding anything, in the back of the head. It wasent ever hand titened all the way. I drove 20 miles and didn't notice any noise. I thought it was weird the bolt didn't just fall out it was so loose.

The driver side head. That's where I thought the lifter noise was coming from.

I'm bring this tread back because I just got my camaro running since winter and it still ticks. It seems to tick at the same speed no matter how fast the engine in moving. And it only does it after it get warm, at about 160. The engine has 45,000 miles and I use Mobil 1 syn 10w-30. 2,500 miles.

scann for trouble codes and see what comes up if anything. it may be the pcv valve or egr valve failing.

I had it in a shop for the mis fire so they pulled all codes it would of had but it didn't have any. The pcv valve is new so it couldn't be that. When it idles its smooth but shakes more that I think it should. How could I test the egr valve?

I have a header leak and iy ticks pretty good. You could have a leaky exhaust manifold. Check to see if any of your manifold bolts have broken off like mine did.

If you have a bad EGR valve, you''l know it. You're car will throw a code and run like crap. Mine did until I did an EGR delete.
