Default Mating Engine back onto Transmission

Hi guys,

I am in the middle of putting my friends 3.4l engine back into his car. We are having some problems getting the engine to slide all the way back onto the input shaft. I know not to force it onto the trans and that it may take some wiggling to get it to match up just right, but we just can't seem to get it to slide all the way on. Are there any tricks that you guys have to share, or any tips to make this any easier?
It's a 5 speed btw.

Thanks.

yes, the clutch was taken off. We used an alignment tool and believe it is installed correctly

a little wiggling should do it. if not, hand turn the engine just a wee bit, just to see if it helps the splines line up better. a little umph may be required to work.

Yea, we have tried turning the engine over a bit already, to no avail. It is on most of the way, just can't seem to get it slide on the last couple of inches. I guess we will try some more wiggling, just not when it is so damn humid out.
Thanks for the quick replies and help.
