Jumpy on takeoff
Hello all! I have a 2002 3.8 5 speed with 65,xxx miles. before i explain the problem i want it to be clear that im not stupid and i know how to drive a manual car! ok with that out of the way
when taking off in first gear, i engage the clutch, not reving the SHI@ out of it then leting off, and when i start giving it gas after the clutch is fully engaged, it starts to jump, not a lot but just enough to make the people in the car jump a little in thier seat. after i shift out of first into second around 2,100 rpm, the same thing happens after i shift, clutch fully engaged i give it gas gets a little jumpy. rarely happens in third but has happend. no other gears do this. now im thinking it maybe is a transmision mount?? any replys are apriciated!! thanks!!

What exactly do you mean by this jumping, and where does it seem to be coming from? Is it like a constant vibration, or like a violent shake that stops depending on how much gas you give it?
I've had a really shaky rear end lately, and I found out it's because my right rear axle isn't getting properly lubricated from the differential. I haven't locked it down exactly (since I haven't had much time), but I'm pretty sure it's a bad bearing in the diff. housing that is blocking lube flow to the axle. Anyway, my point is that location of the jumping could help us pinpoint causes.

well its deffinatly not the clutch slipping and im not sure how to describe it but it feels like the driveshaft is made of jello?? wierd way to describe it but when i drive it, it just doesnt feel very solid at all....its feels like when u let off the clutch to fast and your car does that violet jutting that can only be corrected by pushing the clutch in, but not that extreme
