Default Help needed. Spraying oil.

So I bought my first Camaro 2 weeks ago and when i was bringing it home the oil pressure switch broke so I had to have it towed and replaced. The car has been running fine ever since, until today when I was pulling the car up on to ramps to change the oil and it started smoking from under the hood. I shut the car off and popped the hood to see what the problem was and this what I saw. I don't know to much about mechanical stuff, just the usual changing the oil and other routine maintenance. Anyway a hose had pooped off from the engine and it looks like it was something that was rigged together by the previous owner. Does anyone know what the hose is coming from or what it goes to? And what would I need to fix it and about how much would this cost to be fixed. Is it something simple that I can do by myself or is it major? From the looks of it, it could be something simple and easy to fix. Fingers crossed.

it's a 99 3.8 L, and yeah I'm glad it happened in the driveway and not out on the road.

The reason for the hack job is because of the cost of the hose. The whole hose is one part number. If you do some searching on this website you will find there is a way around buying the pricey hose from GM and not have a hack job like the last owner did. If I get some time later I will look or maybe someone else can help you out.

That is the heater hose and it goes into the tensioner assembly which also doubles as a heater hose manifold. The only way to get the heater hoses is through GM at the tune of $150 ish, you get both the rubber hoses and the aluminum ones that run by the exhaust as well.

BUT....

Check out the thread Darling Reject made about Sofie's engine rebuild and about 1/2 way through it she found a solution to the expensive factory hoses.

Ok. I think I found what I need, but I have a question. Will I be alright with just buying the connectors or do I need to buy the entire kit? Here's the parts http://www.v6fixit.com/Products.htm

Just the adaptors will work but you will need to aquire new hoses. Bulk hose will not work because of the bend you will need to make. If you get the kit you will get the hoses too. It could be cheaper than getting new hoses at the part store. Remember also that you wont be able to look up the hoses per your vehicle you will need to pick up some random hose that will work.
