Help dropping the transmission on my 98 3800.

Default Help dropping the transmission on my 98 3800.

I have taken off the transmission crossmember and 6 bolts that mount to the engine, i am now trying to unbolt the last two bolts on the high end of the tranmission however i am having trouble getting to them, i am now trying to take off the manifolds but am having trouble with them as well, can anyone help, i will be back i a bit i will try to get them off agian.

I would usualy unbolt the trans cross member and let the tranny down, watching stuuf against the firewall. Then as it hangs down the bolts are pointing at you better. Use a long extension and a swivel. I had an extension that would reach all the way to the tail shaft at one time.

1st off...you just made a similar post, so next time just add to that post on the same subject (the thread will move to the top of the list btw)

2nd, did you soak the manifold bolts w/ some lube overnight? do that, the last thing you need is a broken bolt in the head
