you could chop off the catalytic converter if you want better throttle response and a little bit more power. exterior mods...check ebay because they have cheap grilles clear corner turn signals and taillights. if you want cheap decals like "3800" or a windshield decal or rear panel decals check fourthcircledesigns.com they have a good selection at cheap prices. performance wise...maybe some better spark plugs and wires, maybe some synthetic oil (or you could try royal purple oil) heard its pretty bad ***.

I wouldn't recommend this...not only will you fail emissions, but your exhaust tone can get more raspy and the power improvement is usually minimal.

I personally would also recommend against the ebay "Altezza" style taillights, as they are generally poor quality and do not hold up well to weather (and I don't like the way they look, either). You can easily get "3800 V6" decals from old Grand Prix's and just re-apply the double sided foam tape.

As far as spark plugs go, stick to OEM-replacements (E3, Pulstar, Bosch +4's etc. don't offer any improvement) and OEM plug wires or good aftermarket ones (Napa Beldin's, etc). Our 3800's won't really see any improvement with high capacity wires unless you really mod the crap out of it.

Synthetic oil will give you a nominal (+1%) improvement in power and fuel efficiency, so don't expect to see any noticable gains, but it WILL extend your oil change interval, clean out sludge (which, if your engine has been neglected, may make it run better), as well as better protect moving parts. So buy it to extend the life of your car, not to make it faster. If your car burns oil though, it will probably burn synthetic even faster. Royal Purple is a good oil, but very expensive and their claims of HP and MPG improvements tend to be heavily inflated.

He is also just making suggestions. Or "cleaning" them up for lack of a better word.
