Question Good mods to increase performance?

I have a 1994 3.4 SFI V6 and I am looking to get some more power. I already have a cold air intake, performance chip, and dual exhaust tips.
I have 18in x 8in rims with GREAT top of the line tires, so I am not too worried about not hooking up. It is my everyday driver, but I want some more power, I am strongly considering putting headers on, but I want to get some more ideas before I do so.

So what are some good performance mods?

There is a sticky on where to start. Just a FYI the 3.4s do not respond well to mods. the bottle neck for air flow is the heads until you address that your not going to see much gain.

With a 3.4L this is a non issue. If you are bent on keeping this car and engine then you may want to research the 3500 Head swap. BasicConcepts started this project but after his car got into a fight with a T-pole, the project is put on hold indefidently.

the chips do help, with the engines that can be helped. The 3.4L is not one of them. the heads and intake are just too restrictive for their own good. A 94+ Camaro will not need a "chip" since the ECU/M (Electronic Control Unit/Module) was replaced with a PCM (Powertrain Control Module). THe PCM has its parameters stored in memory that can be rewritten without removing the main chip. These computers can be Tuned. 93 is the only year that the chips are needed.

342 gears would work nice on your car.

I have noticed a difference with the chip. It depends on the brand that you get.

What chip did you get. Back in the day "Chip" was the PROM and it contaned the fuel mapping. I dont think the chip that contains the fuel mapping it changable on your computer so I am a little confused what "chip" you have.

Here's a few things you can do to make the 3.4L quicker. I can tell you from experience that doing these things has made a big difference to my car. I can't wait to dyno the car this spring to see my gains!

- Headers
- Stage-II clutch (if 5spd)
- Cat-back exhaust
- Performance muffler
- Cold Air Intake
- High-flow cat
- AC bypass pulley
- New plugs & wires
- One-piece aluminum driveshaft
- Posi rear-end
- Port & polish upper & lower intake manifolds
- Port & polish throttle body
