Good or bad idea?
On the original window sticker for my 96 RS under options installed by manufacturer (non standard options) it says performance handling suspension and it was $400. Does that mean my RS is the Y87 or whatever RS?
If it came stock with dual exhaust, and disc brakesit is a Y87. There are more things to a Y87, just those are the easiest to see. Check the sticker on the end of the driver side door. Look for a code that is GU#. If the # is 6, then it is a Y87. That code is for the rearend, but only Y87 sixxers came with 3.42 in that year.
Wasnt there a Camaro GT or something like that? I know SLP made a Firebird GT for the sixxers, basically what that suspension package was for the camaro. I dont have any substantiation for this other than things I think I saw on other websites though.
the only signifigantly differant sixer (preformance wise) is as stan said the Y87. Y87 came withlimted slip rear, 3:42 gearing ratios dual exaughts, Z28 preformance steering, and z rated tires i belive cant swear to it on the tires but of the rest im very sure
