catalytic converter
Mine to a crap on me (glowing red). So i took it off..hollowed it out (yes i know about doing this) and put it back on. Problem is that it developed a miss when the converter got hot. after replacing the converter the miss was still there. I've replaced plug and wires with no affect. Can someone offer some insight to what else may have happened that i am overlooking. Thanks for any and all help.
A cat will glow red hot when too much raw fuel gets dumped into the exhaust. In your case it was due to the misfire, and you went out and destroyed a perfectly good cat. Scan the engine, it uses OBDII and can point out which cylinder is misfiring. Misfire can be caused by ignition problems (plugs, wires, coils, ignition module), by fuel delivery problems (injector problems, wiring to injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure regulator), mechanical problems affecting compression (burnt valve, bad cam lobe, bad head gasket, cracked piston, etc).
