The SLP RS Camaros of later years had the Z28 muffler & tips, while it doesn't sound bad, the sound just didn't satisfy me. My Borla Adjustable CB does satisfy, however, and is plenty loud with the adjuster plate without holes.

eh i dont know im looking for something that is loud enough to satisfy me but not change the actual tone that the natural motor puts out. like ive heard different exhausts and they seem to change the tone. i realize that most people with a v6 try to get it to sound nice or like a v8 but honestly i know its not a v8 and ive owned many vehicles that were. but id rather embrace that its a v6 and try to keep it sounding as natural as possible but loud enough to enjoy...and no that doesnt mean i want it to sound like a honda(i hate that sound) but my 91 rs sounded great when i did this to it(setup was cat delete, with a thrush muffler duals)

Honestly, Ive heard of an exhaust getting loud when you cut off the muffler, but nothing major or ear popping. It gets insanely loud that you cant hear yourself talk when you cut of the resonator. The resonator is there to cut out most of the noise after all. And honestly, a cat delete isn't recommended unless you are pushing so much power that it needs to go. Than again, I dont think it matters on our 207's. Its nothing but a bigger pipe with a filter surround if I remember correctly. I dont think anything is plugged in or having any extra resistance on the cat. Taking off the muffler really wont do anything but I do agree with the fact that it will sound pretty bad. If you want it louder in the meantime, keep the muffler which smooths out the sound, and put a straight pipe in place of the resonator. Trust me, that will make it louder but it wont sound so bad since the muffler can smooth it out. Of course, I havent looked under this car much since I got it either, so for all I know, our 207 might not have a resonator. But if it does, that would be my choice of a cut if any until you get your other exhaust set up.

If you want loud, the SLP Loudmouth would be the way to go.

The Loudmouth is completely obnoxious and unbearable long-term, if anything, look at the Loudmouth 2 then, it's quieter...

It would be about the closest thing to no muffler at all.
