Default A question on exhaust

I own a 95 Camaro with the 3.4 V6 engine, It has 170k miles on it and i recently had to get the clutch disk replaced and the flywheel turned. After this was done I apparently developed a leak in the oil pan directly over the y-pipe. The leak causes smoke and a burning smell as the oil drips onto the pipe so naturally my concern is fire. Im severely allergic to being on fire... i break out in hives, get blisters, its ugly...

I know that the fire point of clean oil is somewhere around 450'F, but what i dont know is how hot that y-pipe gets under normal conditions. Does anyone know? Any info in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
J

Did you do the work your self? If not I would take it back tot he shop that did the work and tell them to fix what they caused.

It's possible for the Ypipe to get that hot. You need to get it fixed....
