Default drivetrain noise coming from under center console

ok so i bought my 2k camaro and the guy selling it said it needed a transmission mount, as did a tech at my job, but it never bothered me even though it was in the back of my head because when i put the car in reverse it makes this clunking noise like the transmission is hitting the floorboard or something.

i began to hear it when i go over speedbumps and even sometimes when it shifts gears

the car is automatic and today i replaced the transmission mount but it didnt help the problem one bit.

still making the noise so there goes $50 for absolutely nothing except peace of mind that my trans mount is good lol

Did you check your torque arm bushing while you were under there? If it's ripped, the arm could be metal on metal against the mount.

ok so i inspected the torque arm bushing and it looks like its in 2 pieces.... is that supposted to be that way. i also noticed that when the car is on jackstands the exhaust is resting on what looks like a crossmember that goes under the driveshaft and holds up a drain tube. im not sure if that still sits like that off jackstands but it appears to be rubbing.

i think your right about the torque arm bushing though since its in 2 pieces.

Check your exhaust flange bolts and snug them up -- could be a loose exhaust hitting -- happened to me before...
