Camshaft upgrade?

Camshaft upgrade?

With the stock manifold and cam on a 3.4 liter, the 3.4 struggles above 4500rpm. So my question is, is it really worth it to upgrade the camshaft if I choose not to swap out the top end?

From what I have read, No the heads are the choke point.
