Default Brakes: Drum To Disk Rear End Swap

Ok so I have a 94 3.4L V6 with drum brakes on the back and I found a working working 5.7L V8 rear end with disk brakes. I want to switch the rear ends because I hate the look of drum brakes. I've read a few things saying that its an easy bolt off bolt on but I need a little more of an explanation.

1. Won't I have to hook up the brakes to something hydraulic?
2. Will I need any extra parts off of the old car to aid in the swap?
3. Is it really a direct fit between all 4th gen rear ends?
4. Will I need any specialty tools or just the normal stuff (socket set and a jack)?
5. Now lastly. Is there a video somewhere on how to do it in a Camaro because I haven't found one!?

Thanks in advance

You don't need a whole rear end -- just need the kit and this guy sells them -- I did the conversion on my old '95 3.4L:

I feel the kits will be more expensive. The entire rear differential with the brakes attached costs about $150 from my local pull-a-part so I just need steps and advice on how to change them

they are a direct bolt in. all you need to do is unbolt the shocks, sway bar, the bars that run from the axle to the body, brake lines, torque arm, and the driveshaft, youll also have to disconnect the parking brake cables. than roll your axle out and roll the new one in, bolt everything back up and drive it. all in all should take no more than 1.5 hours, and on a scale of 1-10 this job is a 3 (depending on your wrench turning skills)

What does "feel" have to do with it?! Just check prices. A phone does wonders...

Well, it was your story. You could have told what you paid for the conversion kit. Was it more than the $150 a whole rearend is going to cost him?

TA Creations, Camaro items in Trans Am Creations USA store on eBay!
Your link does not show the conversion. "A phone does wonders"
Op I would ask how good or knowledge wise are you with cars. The swap is pretty straight forward and thats bout the cheapest you will get a rear end for. Since this will be your first time just plan a whole day out to do the swap just in case you run into any trouble that way you can hop on here and post any questions. Most if us on here are here to actually help you.

Four years ago -- prices change. People really expect to be spoon-fed current pricing?

I view it as foolish to swap a whole rear end and then the person is likely to junk the old one, reducing the available parts market. The conversion is NOT hard.
