alleged fuel pump?
Hey guys, first post here.
I have a buddy with a 97 3.8l camaro. The other day upon starting, the idle was struggling, dropping and raising rpms erratically. My buddy took it in for an oil change and had the filter replaced. Apparently the mechanic told him that he needed a new fuel pump. After research here, Ive seen that often many people suggest the fuel pump is usually the last problem, so I will attempt to diagnose it.
Please forgive me, as I am efficient with suspension maintenance and fabrication, but a bit of an engine newbie. I would like to test the fuel pressure first to deduce if it is actually a fuel problem or an electrical problem. can you fellas aid me in how I would go about this?
thanks in advance!
