Default 97 RS engine swap: Need some professional advice

Alright, I need some advice here. A freind of mine is willing to sell me his 84 Camaro w/ the V8-305 engine with 489 hp and the R704 trans. And I have a 97 Camaro RS w/ the V6 3.8l engine. What the chances of me actually making a seccessfull swap with the engine, and trans cause I know the trans I have in my Camaro can't even handle the power the engine has to throw out from the 84 camaro. What am i suppose to do make this swap a possibility. And anyone know someone willing to do this engine swap pretty cheap.

Unless Your Gonna Do The Work Yourself ... It's Gonna Be Expensive. If The 305 Is Still Under Computer Operation your Gonna Have To Swap It And The Wiring Harness As Well. If The 305 Is "Really" Turning 489 Horsepower I Doubt It's Still Hooked To The Computer. In That Case Your Gonna Have To Change The Motor Mounts And Alter The Crossmember And Exhaust. I'm Guessing Your 6 Banger Has A Standard Transmission And In That case Your Gonna Have To Have The Shifter, Cable, And Linkage From The 84. If Your Not Mechanically Inclinded Your Probably Biting Off More Than You Can Chew. Theres Quite Few Differences Between The Two Year Models And Your Definately Gonna Find Those Differences Swapping Engines And Transmissions. But, It Can Be Done. Good Luck. Sick
