I've got an 1988 IROC Z28 convertible with a 305 with TBI. I have a 1989 IROC Z28 donor car with a 350 TPI in it lined up. Should I take the donor car route or buy the motor out of the car? What items should I be sure to transfer from the 350 engine? Do you anticipate any any automatic transmisission issues trading up from a 305 to the 350? Any ideas on horse power of stock 305 vs.350? Do you know of any literature or resources that can assist me and my husband with this engine swap project?

the 350 makes 230HP@4400 and 330ft/lbs@3200
and the 305 makes 170HP@4400 and 255Ft/lbs@2400

 

and with the assistance for the engine swap go to autozone they have books for that kind of stuff wil help out alot

 

thank you for your response. Basically I'm trying to put a 1989 TPI 350 into my .88 camaro 305 with TBI. I'll be putting the 305 into the 89 t top. And taking all the 'good' stuff off the 89 t top and putting it onto the 88 convertible.
