Default '97 3.8L performance chip?

Is there a performance chip I could buy for my '97 Camaro? I heard that there are a couple but they dont really do anything special. If there is what is it and how much would it cost.

Don't waste your money on a chip. Get it tuned by a dyno tuner or order one from PCM4less.com. It cost about $150 for a PCM but that's with you sending them your PCM after you receive the tuned one. You'll get the most gains and fuel milage doing it that way. Chips richen your engine and cause problems. The hand helds aren't worth the money it cost from them.

No, You system needs to be tuned. The programmed fuel and timing maps need changed. There are a couple ways to do it but the cheapest way to do this is: PCMforless.com

Tuning a 100% stock car is not going to get you much. 5% maybe. Tuning a car after modding is when you start to see real gains. Cold air intake, Cat back and a lower thermostat plus tune would be a nice upgrade. Headers on a 97 FTW

You should get all the modds done before the tune but you can send your PCM back for updates.

Gorns got the right website. Don't know why I put a 4 instead of for. Like gorn said do as much mods as you can first. I have a stock 96 3.8 but I needed a tune for my new rear diff gearing so I went through pcmforless.com and Alvin answered every question i had and was very quick to reply.

Can a 1994 3.4 be tuned? I keep hearing that there is nothing to tune on my car. Clarification please?

Yes it can. 94 is the first year of the PCM and the EEPROM Chips that hold the mapping. The only problem is there is not alot you can really do with the 3.4L to make it really worth it all.

Would it be enough to make a difference. This is what I'll have done before I send the PCM to be tuned:

K&N CAI
Flowmaster 3" Exhaust
Pacesetter Mid-Length Headers
Z28 Rear End With 3.42 Gears

Send PCMforless a email and see what they can do for you.
