95 3.4 v6 5 speed whst type of tranny???
I'm looking to buy a used tranny for my 1995 camaro 3.4 v6. it's a 5 speed, but I'm trying to find out what kind of tranny it has in it so i can look it up online. if anyone could help me out, i'd appreciate it. Thanks!! Suzie
i believe its the tremac t5 if you need i have a service manual you can look and see if it looks like yours. just send me your e-mail address and i will send it to you, its in adobe pdf format. it tells maintenance and overhaul plus nice breakdown picks.
I've got another question regarding the t-5. Ford also uses these in the Mustang Gt's right? are there different things done to them or not? Cuz I've always heard that if you're doing a v8 swap to change the 5-speed to either a 4l60e (auto) or t-56 (6-speed) because the 5-speed can't handle the torque a v8 puts out. And Im having trouble finding a decent shoft throw shifter for my t-5....Can i use a short throw from a mustang with the t-5 or no?
Hey Minerman, thanks for your help, and you can email that to VTownSuzieQ@yahoo.com thanks again!
Fords do use T5's also. The difference is the belle housing. You COULD put a T5 short throw shifter from a Mustang, but the mounts might be different at the bottom.
I went and bought a Chilton Service Manual and it says the 3.4 V6 5 speed has a RPO M49 transmission. Just so there is no confusion for anyone else needing this information.
suzieq, you that the rpo code m49 is the Tremac t5 transmission right? m49 is not a transmission model but the code for a t5 or Tremac T5.I will send you the service manual i have, i also have the manual for the Tremac T56 and 3550
Oh yeah, I knew that!! Just kidding!! Ok, so I'm not as think as I smart I am!! Well, I'm a girl, not that this is an excuse, but I'm also just learning. thank you for letting me know, and I would appreciate anything you could send me. Thanks! Suzie
Hey Minerman,
You really helped me out a while back with my Clutch problem , and I was wondering if you still have that service manual saved in your computer that you could send to me. I moved, and unfortunately a couple of my "friends" helped themselves to some of my things as they were packing. I would just go buy one, but it seems, something always goes wrong, when your flat broke! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Suzie
