i believe its the tremac t5 if you need i have a service manual you can look and see if it looks like yours. just send me your e-mail address and i will send it to you, its in adobe pdf format. it tells maintenance and overhaul plus nice breakdown picks.

I've got another question regarding the t-5. Ford also uses these in the Mustang Gt's right? are there different things done to them or not? Cuz I've always heard that if you're doing a v8 swap to change the 5-speed to either a 4l60e (auto) or t-56 (6-speed) because the 5-speed can't handle the torque a v8 puts out. And Im having trouble finding a decent shoft throw shifter for my t-5....Can i use a short throw from a mustang with the t-5 or no?

Fords do use T5's also. The difference is the belle housing. You COULD put a T5 short throw shifter from a Mustang, but the mounts might be different at the bottom.

I went and bought a Chilton Service Manual and it says the 3.4 V6 5 speed has a RPO M49 transmission. Just so there is no confusion for anyone else needing this information.

Hey Minerman,

You really helped me out a while back with my Clutch problem , and I was wondering if you still have that service manual saved in your computer that you could send to me. I moved, and unfortunately a couple of my "friends" helped themselves to some of my things as they were packing. I would just go buy one, but it seems, something always goes wrong, when your flat broke! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Suzie
