I have a 95 Z28 with a 5.7L 350ci LT1 automatic. How can I tell what kind of tranny I have? Reason being is because i'm putting a ratchet shifter in it and i need to know the tranny type. Any references or help will be greatly appreciated.

 

I think all the gen 4s have the same auto tranny its the Hydra-matic 4L60E. Even the V6 auto has this tranny.

 

a quick way to check is by the shape of the trans pan........I think this still works on newer cars. http://www.700r4l60e.com/transmission_gm.html
