94 V6 Ticking
Problem started after my car dieing on a drive home, after getting some help to jump it and heading off, the camaro started "knocking" so I pulled off to the side and got it towed the rest of the way home.
The real problem is that it is a more of clicking/ticking at the top of the engine. It's definitely not knocking. I've fixed the problem with the battery, as far as I know. But I've also replaced the spark plugs. I've been suggested that it may be the rocker arm, lifters, valve covers, etc. My question is, should I go about doing this myself and checking for the problem or should I just go the safe route and take it to my mechanic?
Also, have an oil leak that may have caused the ticking because I had put in a quart the day before it died to top it off and after the incident I checked the oil which looked like it had leaked or burned that entire quart away.

I had the same problem, with mine about 3 miles back or so, and I did it myself, it was two lifters for me and also at the same time I was about to fix the oil leak, when I was putting the engine back together.
