93 3.4 high idle

Default 93 3.4 high idle

i have a 93 with a 3.4 and it is idling around 2500 but when i put my finger over that hole in the throttle body and the idle drops what could the problem be and there is no vacum leak and i replaced the inector orings and both temp sensors any help would help

sounds like a vacuum leak to me check around for the line im sure you forgot it when you put the intake back on do you have a manual you could find where that line goes and follow it from there

add to ^^^ that the iac could be stuck open. egr valve could be failing. have u had it scanned for trouble codes?

That means your Idle Air Control motor definitely is bad. That hole feeds extra air to the IAC, which bypasses the closed throttle blade to add more air (if needed) to the intake which then adjusts the idle speed. If the IAC isn't closing when it should, then it's letting in too much air making the idle too high. Your finger over the opening is stopping the air flow, which tells you the IAC isn't. The plunger on yours might be crapped up, but more often it's the motor portion of it that goes bad.
