Yea I lost about 3 qts of trans fluid when I changed my engine out. You should just be able to refill the trans and all should be well.

it looks like ive lost about 5-6 and it leaks every time i start the car... also wont shift into any gear

Where is the leak at? Are you sure you got the torque converter seated?
