donor car or 3800 motor

Default donor car or 3800 motor

in need of a donor car with a RUNNING motor or just the engine. if it is the car then i dont care if only half the car is there. im looking to pay 500$ tops. if you or anyone you know has one please let me no asap

Check with some of your local bone yards. You can also use "k" engines from several other cars if you are willing to replace a few parts from your original engine to the donor.

the nearest junk yard is an hr and a half from me lol. and i would still have to swap things if i got a grand prix motor or a impala motor?

Yes you have to swap about everything off the long block. Good luck finding a camaro 3.8 for $500. When I was looking a year ago the only ones I found for $500 where 130K+ miles.

Anything you do get you want to replace the lower intake gasket its a common weak spot and if the motor has been sitting chances are you will be very unlucky. The intake is about 80% of the work you would need to do to swap in a FWD motor.

ok well mileage doesnt matter as long as it runs good. and ok. intake isnt bad

Wow! An hour and a half away for a bone yard! I can't tell you how many are within 30 minutes of where I live, heck we even have a real bone yard 15 minutes from my house. Ever heard of the Body farm at University of TN? Guess I am lucky to have so many parts places near by.

how much is a reman engine? a rebuild kit is 800 for the 3.8 im tight on money so unless the reman is 500$ or under then i cant do it
