Default Motor swap 3.4 to 3800

Hey I have a 1995 3.4, i want to swap to a 3800, i heard that u can just upgrade parts on the L32. If possible is it better to upgrade parts or get a 3800. And which is cheaper?
Thanks David

Put in a LT1, less work & much better results. An extra 400 CCs is not worth the trouble.

If you have the time and nothing to do...go ahead and do what Pete said. Best way is to find a wrecked LT1 Camaro and swap all the stuff over.

The easiest and best way to upgrade is...

Sell you're V6 and buy the V8.

Hope this helps!

3.8 seems to be a bit better on the performance end, although the 4.3s have LOTS of low-end grunt. 3800 for V6 win, but with all the work of an engine swap, just do a V8.

How many miles on your current 3.4? If you do end up swapping out, I might be interested in your old motor (goes good in Fieros )

You say you heard that you can just "upgrade parts on the L32" Does that mean you heard that you can convert the 3.4 block to a 3800? I hope not, the 3.4 and 3800 are totally different engine architectures. 3.4 is a 60 degree v6, and the 3800 is a 90 degree v6. However, the 3800 does have decent power potential if you start upgrading *its* parts. Not as much potential as a V8, but it will net you better gas mileage (than even the 3.4 for that matter).
