2001 Camaro Speakers
Alright, so here's the deal...I've got a 2001 Camaro with the Monsoon system.
I've had to replace the speakers in both doors at least once, and they still keep acting up. I don't really play my music all that loud, but I do enjoy it.
Does the consistent speaker problems have anything do with how "hard" the doors on a camaro close? Is there any kind of isolation that would make the problem better, etc?
If not, does anyone have any recommendations on new speakers? I talked to someone onetime that said I had to replace all of the speakers at once and rewire the system since I have the Monsoon system. Is this true?
Any help/suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
(Sorry if this has been discussed before...I'm new to the forum and getting ready to walk out the door and didn't have time to search for it...lol).

RE: 2001 Camaro Speakers
no, the monsoon system is pretty simple.
the speakers can all just be hooked directly up. I put infinity kappa 6.5" components in my doors, and they are awesome, had to match them with a good woofer though cuz they are kinda bright sounding.
the whole monsoon system can be directly upgraded, no amp failsafes to **** u off like in other makes. I just put a new head unit in my car this winter, no problems at all.

When did you put those in? And you haven't had any problems yet?
So there wouldn't be any problems with replacing the door speakers and leaving the rest the way they are for now? Where'd you get them from?

Specter, I went to a local place today to get ideas.
The guys there were saying that I couldn't replace the speakers without getting an amp for them. They said that the Monsoon speakers each had a 2 Ohm amp, which couldn't really be carried over because most new speakers are 4 Ohm.
Do you know anything about this? Are they full of crap?

the speakers in the door are 2 ohm I beleive.this doesnt mean that u cant put a 4ohm speaker in there. it will still work, and u arent looking to win any sound competitions here. but they do make 2ohm speakers.
go to www.millionbuy.com this is where I get my stuff most of the time. check the specs on speakers and look for 2 ohm, but dont buy a whole new amp, its a waste
