Default 2001 Camaro Convertible Evaporator Emissions Control System (EECS)

Thanks guys! Still have the two P0440 codes. Libertyforall1776, I understand the system much better now. Still not sure if I want to move the gas tank to check evap cannister or evap vent valve. Is it possible I tried to put too much gas in tank and backflowed cannister? If so, is there a remedy for this? I may try lowering gas tank to check cannister and vent valve if it's not to involved. Also might try cleaning or replacing purge valve in case of blockages or malfunction. Don't really know how to pressurize system or check for vacuum leaks.. Hoses look okay but again, not sure what's happening on top of gas tank. Can unhook solenoid purge valve and start engine and see if there is a vacuum there, if that's okay. Appreciate the help, and any ideas or suggestions are welcome! P.S. What are the dangers, if any, if someone starts the vehicle with the diagnostic tool connected?

Many scanners are meant to be connected with the car running like mine (AutoXray EZ-Scan 6000) and monitor/display realtime sensor data... Yours should be fine too.

Just remembered, when filling my girlfriends car with gas, the pump keeps cutting off like the tank is full. Could this be caused by the vent valve being shut? Maybe the cannister is full? Maybe a faulty solenoid purge valve? I guess I need to trouble shoot this.. Thanks Libertyforall1776 for all the good info. I'm learning. Is there a simple way to tell what is causing the EECS failure, or is lowering the gas tank the next step? Is there a way to tell if the solenoid purge valve is bad?
