1995 Camaro 3.4L Hard Start / No Start Problems
I have a 1995 Camaro 3.4L that has long crank and hard starting problems. I was sure it was with the fuel system, but I have replaced the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, IAC sensor, Throttle position sensor, and even the MAP sensor. I have went through the vacuum lines and wiring but can't find a problem. None of these had any effect on the problem. Once you do get it started it runs fine, but starting can take a long time. The Security light stays on constantly which makes me wonder if the ignition switch is the problem, but it seems it should not start at all if that is the problem. It also has no codes tripped. Can anyone help? I'm running out of ideas. I have attached a video of a typical starting problem.

The normal process when a car is hard to start is to figure out want is missing.
Do you hear the fuel pump running?
Do you have enough fuel pressure?
Do you have spark?
Do you have signal to the injectors?
Normally you are missing at lease one of the above. once you know which is missing while the car will not start you can figure out whats next.
In your case I would not be surprised if you fix you security light your other issues will go away. You are not the first person that I have seen that had a security light on for awhile before it started causing trouble.

Spark plugs and wires have been replaced. It made a big difference in the responsiveness and power. However, no difference to starting.
* Spark is fine.
* Power to the fuel pump is not steady, but I'm not sure why.
* Found a bad power wire to the fuel pump and repaired, however; it still had no impact on starting.
* Fuel Pump relay? I would expect a relay to be good or bad and not marginal. Thoughts?
* I would think the jury rigged Security would cause No Starts more than hard to start. However, my experience is limited.
* As the relay is cheap I guess I will swap it out, and replace the VATS ignition as I'm running out of things to fix and replace.
* Any further comments are greatly appreciated!

I had same problem
If the security light stay blinking after you have the key in the ignition, it is probably the chip in your key if it has one or the key fob. My car sat in my driveway for 3 days and wouldn’t start. It was a security issue. I had two key fobs on same key chain one was bad and other was broken but fixed the chip and never had a problem starting again and the security light stayed off when key was in ignition
