1995 3.4 V6 won't crank
I have a 95 base 3.4 beater camaro i'm trying to bring back to life. When doing one of the many repairs this car needs i had to replace the battery. I got a deal on a brand new deep cycle battery for $80, only problem was it is a top post so i had to do a little modifying to make it fit. It ended up fitting after i took out the coolant reservoir and doing a 4 inch extension on the battery cables. It was all good until i tried starting it up a 2nd time and it wouldn't crank, everything turns on but when i go to crank the engine nothing.... all i hear is a relay click.
Things i have checked/replaced:
-Battery
-Battery Cables
-Starter checked out good at O'Reilly
-New ignition switch
-New anti-theft relay(ignition relay)
-Vats bypassed by resistor
-Hot wired the car to check if the cylinder was bad
-Fuses are good
If i jump the posts on the starter with a screwdriver the engine turns over but backfires on me,that's an entire new issue i need to tackle after i get the engine to start on me. I am yet to grab a test probe and check for 12v at the small purple wire. Any ideas??????
