Random Misfire Fixed
99 Camaro 3.8 V6 Manual trans.
My problem was an electrical issue, this may not fix your problem, however I suggest checking these issues first before going to mechanic.
Problem:
1. Random misfires
2. Fuel economy drops
3. wants to stall at idle
Fix (in order of difficulty, 1 being the easiest)
1. Check to make sure your spark plugs are not running over or behind the Ignition control Module, any other wires, or themselves.
2. Insulate / separate Spark plugs with conduit & add spacers.
3. Check Ignition coil packs for proper resistance.
4. check MAF sensor for proper voltage.
5. Take Ignition Control Module to Auto parts store to have it tested. (do not separate ICM from its metal heat sink if possible.)
If this doesn't fix your problem I suggest checking to make sure you have good fuel pressure, compression, & checking your spark plugs & wires.
