1987 Camaro RS Questions.
Hi, Im new to this site and a second time Camaro owner. I recently bought a 87 Camaro RS * I belive* I usally know my cars well....but I know its not a z-28, Its definatly not an Iroc But im not sure if its a RS or not. It does not have the typical ground effect package and rims as other RS Camaros I see. Its a 2.8 MPI v6 with a 700-r Automatic. Heres my question I need answered, I was told that the car has a 700-r Trannie, and a v8 could be easily swapped in without having to change the trannie. Now since the current engine is a v6, wouldn't a v8 not only bolt to the trannie, but also tear it to shreads? Thank you in advance. -Zach
the bolt pattern on the 2.8 liter is smaller than the on for a v8 cause i was going to put a 350 in my belinetta they won't bolt together and yes if they did the v8 at a high rpm would tear it to shreads and the on way you can find out if its is run the numbers on the stamped tag thats by the radiator support
