Had the same BANG happen to my '95 T56 today going to work. ABS INOP lite is on. Car limped into work, but now I fear going home in it (44 mi.).
Time to hunt a rear end, I reckon...
Auto Z28s had taller gearing, correct?

Yes you are going to want one out of a T56 car. They came 3:42 rears. The automatics are 2:73 to 3:23s

tks Gorn.
My '95 needs tires soon and has 212k miles; would a non-TC rear end from a V6 car work, tho I'd loose ABS and TC? They sure are cheaper...

Inspecting, and refilling my punkin tomorrow. Glad you may have slid by on more $$$ if she keeps running well...

So last pm Im leaving work to commute home, hoping she will at least get me there. Put the stick in Reverse, and only hear chatter and clatter! get out and push a few yards and head out, all 6 fwd work and got home. I am likely to sell since she needs tyres, but if she commutes til then I will be happy. and blessed...

tks for the support
