Having trouble changing rear snocks

Default Having trouble changing rear snocks

For some reason the nut and the upper shock bolt both turn.Ive tried eveything to hold the bolt but i just cant brake it loose its the factory shocks still.i didnt have this much trouble on my last camaro.Any Sugg......

I had to grind off the ones my 79 what year is yours?

if its the rear shock then first put some penetrating agent on (wd40) or something. Dont jack the car up, leave the bottom mounts on the axle and so the top first. As i recall it needs a spanner to hold the shaft (dunno what size) and a ring spanner over the nut. With the stubborn ones I used mole grips on the shaft top and it had sufficient leaverage for me to hold it still and crack the nut with the ring spanner, hopefully it will come off. if not the grider may be needed
