Default trans problem

i have noticed that after driving my car on a long distance drive that it will start shifting in and out of overdrive or the torque converter is unlocking and locking back up it only happens a couple of times it just goes in and out really quick like when you hit the brake but doesn't seem to be real consistant is there any suggestions

Does this do it at every speed or just at one certain speed.

it shifts fine in stop and go traffic and when it is cold or only driven about 20 miles it will be fine but if you have been out in traffic for very long it will start doing it on the highway

If it does not do it constant, where are you going to chase? See, cold, there is no problem, 20 miles in, there is no problem. But that trans is sure taking in a lot of stop and go memory.

Say if you never hit traffic to use the stop and go scenario, will it do it then? Or are you 20 minutes in no matter what, that will shift on it's own come 65mph?

ya i just used the stop and go for comparison like senario,to show that it still shifts good , that it only shifts in and out at 60 to 65 mph, I drove it to tulsa thats 110 miles from where i live thats when i noticed it on the turn pike where the speed limit is 75 mph it drove just fine but when i got into tulsa where the speed limit dropped thats when i noticed it shifting in and out feels more like the lock up disingaging and engaging but i'm not for sure though but yes without stop and go it will do it after it has been driving a while but if you let it set for about an hour it will be fine again

You have a different tire spec ratio? That O/D won't stay in at 65, it is hunting for something or could be low on fluid. Check oil level hot in the trans.
