Slave Cylander Help Needed
I have an 02 Trans Am. It sits most of the year, only being driven a handful of times per year w 48k miles. I recently noticed the slave cylander to be just about out of fluid. I don't see any obvious leaks at the top slave cylinder. Is their another cylinder on the trans that could be leaking? It it my understanding these cars have some sort of known clutch cylinder issues. Any truth to this? I doubt it just ate up fluid over time.

The cylinder connected to the pedal is called the Master cylinder and the one at the clutch itself is called the slave.
It is considered normal wear to replace the Clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder 10 year/100,000 miles. You best bet is just replace the whole assembly Master cylinder, hose and slave.
If you are just a little low you could just top it off and check it weekly to see how fast it is going down. If it get too low the first sign is you would start to have trouble getting it in reverse without it grinding.
I am not a LS1 guy but the above holds true on the LT1's and I think I read it was true with the LS1's.
