It's sitting in the back. I'm waiting till we get rid of his car so I can use the garage again. Too cold to go out and tear the center console apart. The shift boot took like 5 minutes to do.

Okay, so finally pulled out my brothers old car and fixed his new one (leaking head gasket) so I got my garage back...and it's a mess..but that's for another day.

Any ways, noticed the floor was a little damp the other day so I tore the interior up last night and under coated the floor boards. Glad I did too. Found that some rust was starting up on the rear passenger side foot area. Cleaned that up and went on under coating. I also got the parking brake installed sorta. I'll get pics of that when it's done.

Nice. I thought about undercoating mine but I have this thing about the colors not matching. Even though it will be under the carpet when that gets installed lol. Even though I don't really have any rust, there is a small amount of surface rust showing up where the drain plugs are. I was probably going to hit that with some rust reformer and shoot some green over it.

Could always paint the undercoat which is what I plan on doing when summer rolls around since I'm going to have to undercoat it again any ways. Just needed some to hold over for winter. Rear plug was right where the rust was starting too.

So an update.

Got some wheels and tires off a '92 Camaro for $80. Tires are only good for a burnout but wheels are probably going to end up being dedicated for the winter unless I can get them to clean up good. But decided to mock them to see how they looked. I knew they'd stick out, but I didn't think it'd be this much!

And began painting my interior panels black and I'm very happy with the results. They look much, much better than the grayish stock color.

On the list for this upcoming spring is dual exhaust dumped at the axle with cutouts. New window switch bezels, and the addition of rear speakers and new tires for the rear.

Im doing my plastics in black too. Probably going to use krylon fusion flat with matte clear. I though about Plastidipping it though. What are you going to make your dash out of? Can't wait to see that.

I like the Krylon Fusion stuff, it works amazingly well. As for the dash, I've been thinking up ideas with the old man because I want something that's going to hold well, is easy to cut the shape from, but is lightweight as well. He was thinking of using laminate and then covering it in vinyl, but obviously, that's not going to be lightweight. I'm looking into some fiberglass and steel/aluminum options.

Update time:

Dual exhaust is on and rumbling, but is still being tweaked as we ran into a minor issue with ground clearance, but know how to fix it, so I'll update with pics of that once it's finalized. I will say that I didn't use the glass packs as they ended up being too long or the x-pipe because of the way things lined up with my cats and mufflers of choice, but otherwise was pretty simple.

I did however get one step closer to finishing my interior. All is painted black, except the door panels. I'm going to replace the switches and bezels with '94+ later white style. Pics of the dash being painted.

Being torn out.

GM corporate 8.5 10 bolt. On that note, I need help deciding on the new rear gears though. The debate is between 3.42 or 3.73s. Either will be a huge upgrade from the stock 2.73s.

With 3.42s, 25.65 tall tires, a .70 OD, @ 60 puts my rpms at 1882

With 3.73s, 25.65 tall tires, a .70 OD, @ 60 puts it at 2052

How much do you think the extra 170 rpms is going to effect my mpg? I don't do a lot of highway driving, and won't be till fall, but I can cut back on that and stay at school on the weekends.

I don't think that would make a whole lot of difference. If you were thinking 4.10 that might be another story.
