Amazing how tough these motors are to have run hard that long with that problem. Good luck on the fresh build.

Well, my engine build just got more expensive. While inspecting my camshaft more closely, I found some damage. I spoke with a lot of people about whether or not it was safe to use and honestly between everyone’s opinions I got and just for my peace of mind I’m gonna replace it. I think I’m gonna go with the Tick performance HaterMaker stage 2 camshaft. It’ll be a little bit before I have the money to order it so while I had some downtime today, I made up a cheap master cylinder brace. Spent $10 making it. Gonna round down the edges and smooth it out and weld one of the nuts to the plate itself so it’s stationary and then paint it and reinstall it.

Did some more grinding and finishing before the final test fit.

Final test fit before welding a nut to the plate for stationary threads.

Here is the bolt actually putting some preload on the master cylinder.

Nice work on the brace,I forget what I paid for the Strano brace on mine but it was a lot more than $10. lol ) Looking at the damage on that cam I wouldn't run it either.

How much did that brace help? The next step is to finally get the LS brakes put on the car. I have them. Just haven’t had time to install them lol. And yeah the cam is toast. Gave me a good excuse to upgrade tho so oh well lol

Well guys and gals, the camshaft is on the way.

Tick Performance HaterMaker Stage 2.
233/239 .597/.607 110LSA

My old cam was a custom grind
227/235 .587/.600 110LSA

New cam isn’t much bigger than the last but it’ll be a nice little upgrade with the added compression this go around!

Can you guess what’s in the box? Hint is there’s more than one part in the box. Second hint is that the box is laying on 2’x2’ carpet tiles.
