Well I’ve broken 5 of them in the last few years. I’m pretty well over that. So time to upgrade lol

I said it before, it's a gas pedal not an on/off switch.

The gas pedal may not be an on/off switch, but the clutch sure is 😉

Ha!
Is that rear all set up for a 4th gen? Do you know what the drive shaft will need to be?

Yep it’s set up for a 4th Gen. The stock driveshaft will work with a bastard u-joint. I already have the correct u-joint installed with the correct flange for the 8.8 pinion on my spare driveshaft.

Any chance we could get a break down of the costs?

Ask and you shall receive. The 4.10 8.8 rear end came from an Explorer in the salvage yard. The donor 10 bolt that I used the axle tubes from came from a part out here locally. I could reuse the old traction loc carrier that came with the 8.8 rear end but I want a fresh unit so that’s an extra $250 that I don’t have to spend but I’m probably gonna go ahead and get it just for insurance. This can be done cheaper than what I’m doing for sure though.

Well guys, she’s down again.. momentarily this time. I noticed my AFR starting creeping up during cruise and idle up to between 17-20 and my WOT AFR is 9-10. We had it dialed in perfect so that it was 12.5-12.7 during WOT and 14.5-16 during cruise and idle. So I started looking around and realized that what I think is my water pump drive seal is leaking oil all over everything including the top of my optispark. Not sure if that’s exactly where the oil is coming from but that’s what my best guess is. So I gotta tear the front of the engine apart and figure out what’s going on. Got a new timing cover set and a water pump seal install tool this time so it should go together smoothly. Also got new spark plugs just in case they’re fouled. If the opti is dying, I’m gonna order a Petris unit online. They’ve got awesome reviews from a lot of people on Facebook. Wish me luck 🤞🏻
