You should have done more research. Putting a old school 350 in one of these car is possible but it is a nightmare. Look at your motor. How would you get to the distributer to set the timeing or work on it at all. You have to cut the cowl just for the carb to come thru and you will need a different hood just so you can have an air cleaner. You can buy a K-frame that will work the old school small block or you can have custom mounts made,,, and all that is the easy part. The part is that everything electrical in your car is in someway linked to you PCM. Remove your PCM and Nothing works. You have to create a complete new wiring harness and gage setup.
This should give you an idea. Read closely on how the OP'er says he works on the distributer. https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...a-45720/page2/
It is possible to put the 454 in but every single part your going to need your going to have to custom make. Budget about 10K for making the motor fit. plus the cost of the motor.
Go thru all that or buy a Z28 with blown headgaskets and have a 300hp car for about $1600. Ya these swaps are really not worth it, but it is a good way to learn just keep in mind when your done the car will have almost no value. In most cases the cars sell for less the the some of the parts. I saw one for sale for a year he was down to $1200 before he pulled the motor/tranny and sold it for $800 and sold the body for $600 and kept the rims and sound system.
