Before I start, I don't know if this is in the correct place but if a moderator could, I would like it to be moved to the correct place.

I pretty much need to get some answers to a couple of questions I have.

Alright pretty much, the '69 Camaro SS is my Dad's favorite car and I want to start a project car for him and fully build it and give it to him as a surprise gift. (If this is posted in the wrong side please let me know!)

Anyways, I have a basic plan in my head so far. I was just wondering if I could use the LS1 chevy motor in the Camaro and if so, what transmission/drivetrain/etc would I need. I'm kind of in a rush to figure all of this out so don't hate me for not looking around the forums before asking, I'm not good with the internet!

I have a good friend who owns a bodyshop so I'm planning on finding a shell of the car that is in good shape and going with that.

Any answers and help would be a great start to my project!

Sorry, but the only way you are going to get all of the answers you need is to do a lot of searching/reading.
There is quite a bit of info on this, and other forums, about transplanting a LS1 into a first Gen Camaro. But since it is not an easy task, you really need to do your homework.

JNO, i know about motorswaps, I've done about two myself. I just needed like people's opinions on the LS1 in the car itself mostly.
