68 Camaro RS Convertible New Project
Purchased in Spring 2011. Matching numbers, original black CA plate, original owners manual and protecto-plate. Restoration began in April 2012. I worked on it for about 9 days in April, and 3 days last week (July 2012) I had one person helping me. The work is being done in the shop of a friend of mine in Hesperia, CA. Question- What is the correct original paint color for frame and suspension - flat, semi-gloss, or satin black?

Looks like you have a nice starting point. I can't tell from the pics, but I hope there is some type of added support inside? (between the doors, floor, etc) The convertibles flex like crazy on a rotisserie- (don't ask me how I know ;-)
Did you make the rotisserie yourself?
I am not positive which color is original, but I used the Chassis Black satin on mine. Looks nice because it isn't too glossy. Good Luck!

YIKES!!!!!! NO I DON'T HAVE ANY ADDED SUPPORT!!! What a rude awakening this morning! Yes, I made the rotisserie myself. Will you please tell me what you know about convertibles "flexing" on a rotisserie? "Flexing" should not be a problem if it returns to its original alignment, but I can see how "bending," or elastic deformation of the metal would be a big problem :0
The school of thought is that without the doors, a convertible can collapse on itself. However some people say that convertibles are made to flex, and if the floors are in good shape, you don't need to worry. I just put a couple of cross braces in mine, and when I started to cut the floor, I could visually see the braces had bent. I was able to sure it up, and I basically welded a box made out of angle iron inside the car.
I believe, at minimum, there should be a brace welded, or bolted, in each door opening, and some cross bracing just to be sure. I know the rotisserie companies sell adjustable braces. So, they must recommend them?
