Update time again. I'm going to pick up an UltraZ hood up from a guy for $400 painted red. I'm pretty excited! Here are the pics he sent me.

Car is coming along great! Congrats on the awards, too. It's great that you picked up an Ultra Z hood. One of the best hoods on a 4th gen!

Got it installed today I still need a solution for stripes, I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet.

Thanks man! I was browsing Craigslist and I saw that, I immediately knew I had to get it. The best part is that it is an SLP hood and it is painted already!

Socom, I've enjoyed this thread also. Very nice and kudos to you... and probably your dad I like that fact that people like yourself put some money in the v6's just for the simple fact that if some arrogant punk pulls up next to you at a light and thinks he has something, he's in for a big surprise. Nice ride again. You could probably get that nose repainted for $400 or so and get it restriped if that was what you were asking.

Thanks alot man. I've learned so much building the car. Well the stripes that are left are vinyl so if I can get those off without damaging the underlying paint I should be in good shape. I also have a place I can buy new stripes from for $175 shipped. It will look like this in black and will have the matching 35th stripes on the spoiler/hatch. The 35th are my favorite style of stripes.

Also, an update for today: I took some peices I had laying around in my garage and converted to an LS1 K&N FIPK. So I can use the functionality of my hood

Be interesting to see what you do with the stripes. The muffler tips look a lot better in the middle like that, though I'm not a fan of flat tips myself.

This is so amazing, great job on the car. Really really gives me more inspiration to work on both of my Camaro's. Love what you are doing and I admire you staying with the 3.4L
