Hey everyone, I thought I might share the build of my car, starting from day 1.

So we begin with the day I bought the car. (Wheels I had laying around)
Attachment 33809

And I always service cars I just bought.

Attachment 33810

I thought it sat too high, so I bought lowering springs and some new shocks.
Attachment 33811

Attachment 33812

All put together, with new rotors and calipers.
Attachment 33813

And then I realized that 2.73's and drum brakes suck, so I went out and found a rear out of a 99 SS. (3.42's and discs)
Attachment 33814

I also got a 1 pc. aluminum driveshaft from the same car. (spent around 300 for rear and driveshaft)

The rear:

All sanded and ready to be painted.
Attachment 33814

Going into the car.
Attachment 33817

In!
Attachment 33818

Then shortly after, the odometer rolls 200k :icon_shrug:
Attachment 33819
And I throw a rod bearing :icon_doh:

So I decide to go all out with the rebuild of the car.

First thing was to disassemble my car.

Then I pulled the motor out of the top :icon_no: Shoulda done it from the bottom :icon_doh:

Motors out!
Attachment 33800

Yep, thats 200k miles for you.
Attachment 33801

So I found this donor motor with only 40k miles on it Attachment 33802

Ordered some pacesetter headers from herron performance, they look great!
Attachment 33803

I sent the motor to a machine shop to be built.

In the parts cleaner:
Attachment 33804

Heads are all nice and clean.
Attachment 33805

Motor bored 20 over.
Attachment 33806

While at carlisle, I picked up some LCA's, Strut tower, and torque arm from UMI, and a single adj. panhard from lakewood.

Attachment 33807

And while I was walking the fairgrounds, I saw this badboy.
Attachment 33808

Yep, a vortech supercharged 3.4l v6. I talked to the guy and had a long discussion on how he did it, and I am inspired to reproduce his creation. I have a lot more detailed pics but I'm going to keep those to my self. Stay tuned for more updates :)

i want a supercharger

I think I would have just bought a 3.8L instead, the 3.4Ls are not worth putting much $ into, IMHO. But good work, don't mean to degrade what you did for your ride.

Nice job. I am a little suprised the 40K donor need bored. These block have a fair amount of nickel in them and tend not to show to much wear until 100K or so.

Good luck,,,

Thanks, The motor had a blown head gasket after I opened it up, and a cylinder had water+rust in it. So it needed to be bored. (I also want to run lower compression so the engine can take boost/nos.)

I wish I had the money to do all this to my Camaro :icon_shrug:

Haha this is true. Were the 5-speeds rare? I've seen tons of v6 Camaro's but they were all automatics. Except a few that I've seen on here.
