Rattle-canned my old car...was an exciting experience to say the least

Been considering a long term project such as this for my 95 'maro. What has crossed my mind is that the local junkyards have a plethora of totaled 90' to 99' Camaro's and P/U's that have the motor I want, and all at a reasonable price. Thinking of rebuilding a currently functional 3.8 or 3.4 in the garage over the next year or so until all is ready for the swap out.

Anyone have any tech/performance ideas for the project? (such as cam and crank combos?)

I went with a mild 252h cam and stock crank. Once I get another daily driver I want to swap a 5.3 into it. If you are going to swap 3.4->3.8 you will have to the same amount of work as an lsx.

Angry Sad Day

I might have to postpone the project, unfortunately. On Thursday the wife was on her way across Nashville to Franklin and got hit in the rear-end. The bumper cover and the various other parts are all destroyed. Waiting on the insurance company to send out an adjuster. Though the space frame is not damaged, they might total the car anyway.

You guys were close on the tq. It was 165 hp and 216tq. Would have been a lot higher if the car didn't go into overdrive. My graph isnt even a straight curve, its doing all sorts of weird stuff. 3800camaro: the only mod I have planned so far this winter is to put bilstein shocks on. My car is basically completely modded besides fuel system lol.

Heres a video of a 2nd gear pull, which the dyno didnt like.
