I resurfaced my upper dash cover for like $15. Go to the fabric section of Walmart and get black vinyl. You'll need 3M general adhesive spray. Some two part epoxy and an old towel. I basically super glued mine back together then I reinforced it from the back using the epoxy and old ripped up towel as a ghetto fiber glass like repair. Then spray away with the adhesive and lay your vinyl over it and work out the wrinkles. Done. There are pics on my thread. Let me get a link for you.

Here are all the pics I have of my dash pad. I started with one as bad as I have shown in the first picture.

Also don't let the small wrinkles you see in the second pic bug you. Those work themselves out after sitting in the sun for a couple days. The black vinyl matches perfect to the a-pillars and the rest of the dash. And mine hasn't faded at all since I resurfaced it and it's been over a year.

Thank you for the pics. Looks great! Thats pretty much what I had in mind if I couldnt get a hold of a good used one.... and it looks like thats going to be the case.

If I do what you did, I will probably use actual fiber glass resin and fiber glass cloth. I need to see if I can find some automotive grade vinyl.

What do you have going on there with the defroster grate? I am wondering how I can approach that part of it.....

Basically I just cut around it but then you could see the edges of the vinyl and I didn't like that. So I made a trim piece to cover the edges as you can see and just glued it down. It worked out really good

For the trim piece I cut a piece out of my old center console that was relatively flat. Then I took some left over vinyl and covered it with that. Wrapped it around all the inner and outer edges for a clean finish and it looked awesome. I tried other trim pieces too like black poster board... That was junk lol
