Ok thanks everyone for the help. I'm going to go with it was an error on GM side. I'll most likely just get a create 350 or something an put in it. An sell off the v6. An re-enforce the rear end with those sub connectors. So it can handle it. Not trying to have a race car but something that is faster then 135 mph. Thanks everyone for the info. Was hoping it was something that would set it off from all the other v6 camaros out there.

Do the research, it will be easier and might be cheaper in buying a V8 Camaro.

cant just throw a v8 in one of these cars. they are engine specific. trans, rearend, suspension, engine mounts, wiring, computers are designed for the engine.

don't know if it was mentioned I see z28 decals on v6 cars all the time as well ss on v6 cars an guys actually think its a z28 or ss by word of mouth an bad information it is too ,very few cars were made ss like a monte carlo 90 something to 2002 that came with v6 engines ,we get this all the time replace it the v6 if it runs good just drive it ,or sell to get a v8 car ,its more work then its worth ,an you need a full custom shop to do it up right an working out the quirks can couse some to give up,talk about constant mach up an hours of it ,I am still working quirks out of my v8 car with a swap to another v8 ,just save for v8 car ,its what I may do in the next few years after I feel like I got some bang for my buck ,these cars you will never get a good resale value either ,sometimes I just want to move to an ls1 car an build off of it ,2002 le1 when I get the money ,or any le1 from 98-02 ,who knows ,but like craby says there one engine cars realy ,you can get a 92 or older camaro cheap an put 350 crate in that so much less painful ,an a lot more space too,an alot less cost,of 135 mph from v6 is not fast enough all cars go 100 ,an I doubt you could one up to 135mph with about 2 miles of space an cops everywhere ,the lt1 tops out at 135 mph on a long road too stock ,your talking track car very exspencive ? post pics of the engine bay

Ok I really didn't know that you would have to do everything for a swap. I knew engine an transmission but I would never throught about the computer ect. I'm really glad I posted in here getting some really good information an now looking at everything in perspective I'm way better off just buying the whole different car.

yep and the 3.8 has good hp, more than most older 350s. good thing about the 3.8 is there are still a good number of them around and can upgrade to a series 3 3.8 if your in need of a engine change. gain 15-20hp.
