hmm speaking of drivetrain loss, i calculated mine for a 15% loss but 15 was just an educated guess. anyone know what the actual % should be for a 6 spd car?

when my pal had his car dynoed , although the number may not be correct as it was an ls1 gto with some mods, it pulled 353 rwhp and calc 405 fhp, like i said i know numbers can be anything but the drive train loss that was calculated here to get from the rwhp to fly was 15% of the rear wheel measured value.

au contraire Pierre

why do you think I was asking for him to provide his complete setup?

posts like this always smell fishy. In my years (yeh yeh, I know that's a lot of years wise guys) I've listend to too many people make claims of 400 or 500 whp (with a normally aspirated small block) and running low 12's or high 11's when they have no clue what it takes to make that kind of power, and once they get enough power, to then transfer it to the ground to get into the 11's.

Maybe I was just being kind asking for his complete setup while whammer was just a bit more direct

yeah i don't beat around the bush, lol.

and craby, i guess him not saying flywheel horsepower in any of his posts AFTER someone said 400 at the wheels meant, to me, that he meant 400 at the wheels.

i still think this guy is very naive for a couple reasons. A...for assuming another car is stock even AFTER he hears its has an aftermarket turbo. B...for not doing enough research to realize his hotcam car doesn't make 400hp to the flywheel or the wheels

i could believe he made 400rwhp with the nitrous hooked up...but he said its never been hooked up

To all the people who like to say BS.... I will post my dyno here any day, just need to find a scanner. It is from an Engine dyno, yes. Made 396 without the exhaust hooked up. As for suspension, I don't know it was done prior to me buying it, which sucks because it's lowered a lot and I hate that. The tires/rims are garbage as of now.... I watched the video and the only reason I lost is because I was still burning out even when she slammed into third, it's a built up automatic unfortunately. I would have had to big of a run on him and he wouldn't have caught up if I had traction. Will post dyno soon. And, my link below is NOT the race that I am talking about. Time trials as I mentioned, is here; http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...rch_type=&aq=f

engine dyno is much more believable than chassis dyno here. 396 at the flywheel is...what...320 to the wheels?(someone help me out here) while i think even that is generous, its much more believable than what we had originally thought you meant.

i'm confused about your built up automatic part...your car is a built up automatic and that's why you lost? your shifts should be smoother with an automatic. but if you're having that much trouble spinning your tires, you really need to look at your suspension and tires. if you don't know what's been done to it, take underneath pics and i'm sure we can help you to determine what is stock and what is not stock to help you plant your power better

No, I just had people asking for specs on a 6 speed car and mine is an automatic, I meant unfortunately because I want a 6 speed. I will try and get some underneath pix but the car is in storage right now, I may get a chance to run out there soon though. And the gears right now are stock, I think.... as I said the previous owner did a few things too. I know when I burn out, both tires spin like crazy, not just one. I wish I knew more about cars, but I don't so...
