WTF.... my 400 HP lost to a supposedly stock NISSAN 240sx.... HELP!
to start with find out what gears u have, might be 323s like i have, most likely that or 342s. 342 gears are ok but 373 or 370 would be the way to go. if u are going for big hp u will be looking at a 12 bolt or 9 in moser rear end eventually so if u want quicker go with a change in rearend. did u say the transmission has been upgraded?
if you're an auto, you'd either be 2:73 gears or 3:23 gears...3:73 is the gear most go with.
and you talk about automatics like their the worst tranny in the world...they run more consistent times and can cut really low 60 times

haha build it dont buy it and you wont have to go on what other people claim they did to the car prior to you buying it... i love my camaro to death but i know way too many friends with imports that would rape V8s... my dads friend for instance dropped a 6.0 into his transam built ground up with 600 on an engine dyno prior to install and only ran 12s where as my brother in laws neon srt 4 with a stage 2 kit ($2500 we installed it ourselves) broke 12s on drag radials... one thing to learn every import will say there car is stock you know why cause they wanna see the look on your face when you get your *** handed to you. and racing isnt for people that dont know crap about cars... like everyone said until your on a track with a tree your not a racer. you cant believe anything you read or hear and only half of what you see ... cause if you do hell i got some ocean front property in pahrump id like to sell ya
engine dyno is much more believable than chassis dyno here. 396 at the flywheel is...what...320 to the wheels?(someone help me out here) while i think even that is generous, its much more believable than what we had originally thought you meant.
i'm confused about your built up automatic part...your car is a built up automatic and that's why you lost? your shifts should be smoother with an automatic. but if you're having that much trouble spinning your tires, you really need to look at your suspension and tires. if you don't know what's been done to it, take underneath pics and i'm sure we can help you to determine what is stock and what is not stock to help you plant your power better

i can see him spinning with a built trans, a shift kit can cause a car to bark the tires pretty hard. there's vids online of a guy with an old G-body (i think) that was barking the tires into 3rd with an auto.
Yeah, 3rd gear they are still burning out hard, leaving 6 foot of rubber even then. The car is 341 at the wheels. The engine dyno was done without my exhaust setup, so maybe that's where the extra 6 is now? It's a fun car. So, where do I get a 12 bolt?
heres one place. im sure if u look u can find a less expensive one.

my 96 Z28 will spin the tires all the way through 2nd and half through 3rd with a shift kit in my automatic.
all my car has is a moroso cold air and exhaust and im pretty sure 2.73s.
it did have 3.73s until i blew up the rear end last year.
whatever else is done to the car i have no idea.
for all i know it could be a 350+hp LT1.
i doubt it but still.
lol
