Where to start?
Hello,
I'm about to pull the trigger on my first Camaro and wanted to get some feedback from you folks. I'm eyeballing 2 units right now, A 1994 with 180k that will need a fuel pump. It is a red hard-top, body looks straight and clean, he states that the fuel pump is all that is wrong with it in the ad. Don't know if it has the 3.4 or 3.8 engine in it.
The other is a 1995 with 140k, with T-top. This one has been in an accident, the left front fender is broken and possibly the front bumper will need to be replaced. Not sure as the pics don't show very well. owner also states that it needs a "main computer" to run. Its one of the dark green ones, again no idea which V6 it has.
I'm a fan of T-tops, so this one has my attention a bit more, and with lower mileage, its my preference. the green will have to go though. With that being said, I don't have a problem doing basic body parts replacements and repainting it.
As far as the red 94, if it is just a matter of replacing the fuel pump, this might be the easier way to go. Again, having never had one, I don't know how hard dropping the tank and replacing the pump would be.
So what do you guys think? I know its not a lot of information to go on and until I can actually get out to see both of them, its all just conjecture, but I did want to get your opinions.
BTW, been reading each section on the site and having a great education and enjoying looking at all the rides.
Thanks,
Bill in SLC

ok, the red one has the 3.4l engine.
and the owner of the green t-top says its the computer that regulates fuel flow. Any idea which one that would be? should it just be a matter of swapping it out with a new computer module?
Thanks, please forgive my ignorance

The 95 would also have a 3.4 unless it's a California car, then it would be 3.8. Both of those cars would worry me since you can't hear them run to know whether the engine is junk or not. Unless you're getting them cheap enough to where you'd make your money back selling it as a parts car.
