Way hot, over heating!!!!
On my way home the car over heated... big time. radiator fan wasn't working when i bought the car (a week ago) so i checked the relay, there was none. went and got one today before i picked up the car from shop put it in before i drove it home (13 miles) few miles from the house the car almost hit the red so i turned it off and coasted to a stop on side of road. noticed fan still not working, so i let it cool then got it home. radiator was empty and cap was almost blown off. the car sat for 8months that i know of. no leaks that i can see but Had the "gurggling" sound when i put fluid in, any ideas why this would be happening? I replaced the surp belt, it seemed tight cuz the tension er is pretty much maxed out... would that have something to do with it? Also as i drive it the temp goes down to around 200-220 and at red lights it jumps quickly over 240. again plz help, thank you all

Well by now you probably blew a head or Gasket. If you let it get to the red that is extremely high. Fill the radiator with water and once completely cool start it back up. If you see white exhaust then you know for sure. Compression test each cylinder anyways to make sure. If you overheated get ready for a bunch of seized bolts when removing the heads. This car has no grill so it really needs those fans to cool properly. The reason that it ran cooler when moving is because air getting pushed into the radiator.
two things come to mind. check your thermostat could not be opening up. check for leaks and run some test on your fan. there is a sticky for it. a quick test would to turn your ac on and see if the fan kicks in.
Alright so.. About the over heating problem..repleced the therm, and temp gauge sen..Car still overheats, when i poped the hood after changing those 2 things and it over heated there was a ton a of pressure in the hoses, it sprung a leak on the hose on the top of water pump. possiable blocked heatercore? anyone got any thoughts?
Also Car will not resond to comp to see what codes have been poped?

Do the fans come on when the temp sensor is unplugged? If so, see if it makes a difference by cruising through town below 20-30mph.
It sounds like a leak if she was empty, but if that's not the case, and the thermostat is working properly, my bet is your fans.
If the hoses have pressure, the pump is working, so you can cross that off the list of suspects.

yes the fan comes on when temp sensor is unplugged. it runs GREAT when fan is on, no probs. ive now replaced the thermostat, temp sensor and the coolant sensor. water pump working fine. still fan wont turn on when temp senor plugged in? im lost as well as the auto parts store guys, and dont get it. thinking about putting switch in for fan, but thats just masking the prob and not fixing it as i would want to. Any ideas?
Also again wont respond to computer to read the codes????
